Are the passwords generated on my device?

Yes. The generator uses the browser’s built-in crypto.getRandomValues - a real cryptographic RNG - and never sends anything to a server, so your password cannot be intercepted in transit.

How strong is the generated password?

The tool reports honestly using Shannon entropy - bits = length × log2(charset) - then penalises for repeated, sequential or keyboard runs and common passwords. A random 20-character password is far stronger than a short one that only looks clever.

How long should my password be?

Aim for 16 characters or more for important accounts. Each added character multiplies the search space, and length matters more than character mix - the meter shows you the entropy and crack time as you adjust length.
